Mr. Frans van Bodengraven is a Project Engineer working out of Borrego Solar’s regional headquarters in Oakland, California. As a member of the West Coast Engineering Department, Frans is responsible for the development and design of commercial and utility-scale solar installations deployed throughout California and the Pacific Northwest. He approaches every project with goals for maximizing energy production and increasing system longevity within the confines of CEQA compliance and client-specific criteria. His designs reflect an importance in considering the ease of installation and long term operation and maintenance. Prior to this new role on the West Coast, Frans had been engineering solar energy projects for both the commercial and residential sectors in Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York since 2012. Prior to joining Borrego Solar in 2015 he held positions in PV design as well as project management, procurement, and installation. He is a certified PV installer with the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP®) and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Renewable Energy from the University of Vermont.
