Mr. James Matarese is a Senior Project Manager for Borrego Solar based out of the company’s corporate headquarters in San Diego, California. As a Project Manager James is responsible for managing the installation of large-scale ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects from the design engineering phase until it is given permission to operate from the utility. After a successful interconnection he helps transition the project to our internal solar operations and maintenance (O&M) division or the O&M vendor retained by the PV asset owner. His current focus is on utility-scale solar projects on the west coast in the 3-10 megawatt capacity range. Prior to joining Borrego Solar in 2015, James worked in solar business development and founded the Orange County Renewable Energy Society back in 2009. From solar business development he transitioned to commercial and industrial solar projects in 2012. During his time with Borrego Solar, and before transitioning to utility project management, James performed energy audits and retrofits for our C&I customers. James earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in environmental studies from Ashford University.
