Zak Farkes is a Project Developer for Borrego Solar and works from the company’s regional headquarters in Lowell, Massachusetts. Zak’s primary focus is to help private and municipal customers reduce their operating costs and protect themselves from rising utility rates through the deployment of large, commercial scale projects. He takes an interdisciplinary approach to PV development; leveraging a strong understanding of economic modeling, project finance, system design, risk mitigation, and operations management to deliver the greatest possible return on investment for all project stakeholders. Prior to joining the Borrego Solar team, Zak worked to define a robust and scalable Operations Department at Solectria Renewables, a leading US based PV inverter manufacturer, until the company’s sale in 2014. Before entering the solar industry, Zak played professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies from 2005-2010. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and is currently pursuing an MBA at Babson College’s Olin School of Business.
